The Issars
(ancestors) inhabit a multitude of lofty realms sprinkled throughout the
celestial universe, amply sheltering the ageless on their eternal journey. Some
realms are vast, complex continents of tranquility and natural splendor, brimming
with an abundance pristine lakes, sterling waterfalls, and perennial
vegetation. Yet lurking in the
shadow of paradise are the visually upsetting realms filled with stagnation and
deprivation, shrouded in deep shades of chaos that bubbles from the core. Boney
forest, tainted sod, unrelenting squalls, cruddy shorelines, and misshapen land
impede life on these barren plateaus. Yet as bad as conditions are, the verdant
plains of perfection do not diminish the majesty of the lesser worlds. One
proud resident, Niseka, the issar of tenacious lust, obsession, and searing
longing, has learned to call his bleak world home.
The valiant, astute Niseka (his divine title: The
Neblum) withstood mortality for 237 years. He’s a weathered issar who attained
his reign the ancient way- fostered by time, hardened by trials. He is the
founder of a divided sect called Nipercaria, a sect that developed eras ago,
inspired by a collection of writings called Nisey’s Embers (a devotional for
young grooms on etiquette). Niseka was the originator of the first small
volume of books that was later developed by those who follow Nipercarian teachings.
Though the Nipercarians have an infamous reputation and sordid past, he
is reluctantly respected by his fellow issarians who are forced to share issaria
with him. It’s a reasonable arrangement considering his Nipercarian colleague,
Decantar, leader of Neperchura. In the opinions of the issarian elites,
compared to Decantar, Niseka is quite tolerable.
One overcast morning, Niseka and
his servant, Nelet, venture into in the desolate realm of Intestrum in search for a grandiose maze of dripping-wet caverns
hidden in the wasteland. For many years, Niseka has secretly and patiently
prepared for this clandestine mission. Finally every minuscule task was
complete; they only needed to brave the severe conditions of Intestrum to seize
their prize. Yet, no one knows of his quest, save a few of Niseka’s allies who
shared similar grievances against Issarian elitist. Gwenliba himself – master
of the issari- forbids anyone for undoing the work he has set in place, and to
disobey his ruling is punishable to the highest degree. That does not sway
Niseka as he bravely conquers this inhabitable natural wonder, blinded by the
yearning that has gripped his heart for centuries. With the aid of a special
compass, they manage the maze with ease and came upon a clearing wide and vast.
In its center lies the resting place of the late VerNous, a victim of
Gwenliba’s brutal judgment.
